LEGO’s newest Ultimate Collector Series set needs its own wall. The Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457) is 6,130 pieces, $799.99 and 53.5 inches long, the longest LEGO Star Wars model ever made.
The set
Darth Vader’s flagship launched Oct 1 and finishes at 53.5 inches long, 20 inches wide and 7.5 inches high on its built-in display stand. In the films it’s 19,000 meters of Imperial menace. On your shelf, it’s still the biggest thing in the room.
The details
To show just how massive the Executor is, the set includes a brick-built Imperial Star Destroyer at the same scale, and it looks tiny next to it. There’s even a printed Millennium Falcon tile on the back of its bridge tower. A new decorated tile is scattered across the hull to suggest windows and lights, and the underside is packed with engine and trench detail.
Under the skin, a LEGO System core with slim Technic outriggers holds the long hull panels in place, which is how a model this long stays straight.
The bounty hunters, all of them
The minifigures recreate the bridge scene from The Empire Strikes Back: Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, IG-88, 4-LOM and Zuckuss. It’s the first time all six of the film’s bounty hunters have appeared in one LEGO set, and IG-88 gets a new head sculpt.
Our take
$800 is a lot of money. But for a UCS ship this size, with every bounty hunter from the bridge scene in the box, it’s the Star Wars set of the year. Measure your shelf first.
