The G-Unit name arrives with a soundtrack attached. The sneaker itself is quieter than you might remember: white leather, a suede toe panel, blue lining and a small flash of red and blue near the front. Reebok’s returning G6 lets the name carry the noise while the shape does something much simpler.
The 2026 re-release reached US retail on August 20 at $130, according to Sneaker News’ release listing. Reebok’s official campaign confirms the original red, white and blue colourway is back, linking the return to the G6’s introduction alongside 50 Cent in 2003.
A comeback with a real point of reference
Reebok places the original partnership in the period following Get Rich or Die Tryin’. That connection gives the G6 a specific cultural address. The script on the heel is part of a musician’s sneaker franchise, with a history that reaches beyond a one-season logo swap.
The current campaign brings 50 Cent back into the frame. In Reebok’s photograph, the shoe sits beneath loose white trousers with blue detailing. It is a useful reminder of how the design works as part of an outfit: the colour accents register clearly, while the low profile leaves the clothes room to move.

The shoe is cleaner than the legend
Reebok describes a leather-and-suede upper and an icy rubber outsole. The product image shows why that combination works. The grey suede interrupts the white around the toe, the blue collar frames the opening, and the small stripes give the front half a little motion. The embroidered G-Unit script finishes the side without covering it.
Our favourite detail is the distance between the stripes and the heel lettering. There is room for both to register. The design never needs to fill the space between them, which keeps the profile easy to read.
That is also what makes this worth considering without an original pair in your memory. Straight jeans, a plain tee and the G6 would let its proportions speak. Recreating an entire 2003 outfit is optional.
The return is already underway
This is a released retro, not a rumoured future drop. Check the official Reebok product page for current availability; the launch price does not establish what every retailer or resale listing will charge now.
The nostalgia explains why people recognize the name. Our reason to look twice is the shoe underneath it: restrained, easy to place in an outfit and distinctive without needing to shout. A re-release is most interesting when it gives the design another chance to earn attention.
