Thirty-five years after Michael Jordan debuted it, the Air Jordan 6 “White Infrared” is coming back in the form closest to the one he wore. The 2026 retro (CT8529-105) restores the embroidered Nike Air logo on the heel, which the 2010 and 2014 versions swapped for a Jumpman, and reworks the shape to sit nearer the 1991 original.

Release date, price and where to buy

Release calendars at Sneaker Bar Detroit, Sole Retriever, HNHH and Nice Kicks agree on Saturday, Nov 7. No release time has been published yet. Sole Retriever lists the men’s pair at $215 and grade school at $155, and House of Heat lists additional kids’ sizes.

This is a wide release. Expect it on SNKRS and at Jordan retailers, with HNHH naming Foot Locker, Finish Line, Hibbett, Shiekh and Dick’s among the stockists.

What’s different this time

The upper is white leather, perforated at the midfoot and collar. Infrared hits the Jumpman, the tongue’s lace lock and the lining of the heel spoiler. Below, a white and Infrared midsole with a visible heel Air unit sits on a black translucent outsole. Retailers list the colorway slightly differently; Sole Retriever has it as White/White-Light Crimson-Black.

The headline change is on the back. The embroidered white Nike Air logo on the heel matches the 1991 pair, after the 2010 “Infrared Pack” and 2014 retros used a Jumpman there. HNHH and Sneaker Bar Detroit also point to a shape that sits closer to the original, including the toe box and the height of the tongue. House of Heat expects original-style packaging.

Why the 6 matters

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 6, and Jordan first wore it at the 1991 All-Star Game. That season ended with his first NBA championship, which makes the 6 the shoe of his first title. It was also the first Air Jordan with a heel tab, HNHH notes.

The “White Infrared” has always lived in the shadow of the black “Infrared,” the pair most tied to that first title run, but it is the cleaner of the two and arguably the easier to wear. Its last retro was in 2014, and the inverse version, a “Reverse Infrared” 6, came out earlier this year in February.

Fewer retros, bigger ones

The timing fits a wider shift. Sole Retriever reports that Nike CEO Elliott Hill told investors Jordan retros will be released less often. A pair like this, an OG colorway rebuilt with original details on its 35th anniversary, is the kind of retro that strategy points to.

Should you cop?

If you missed the 2014 pair, or own it and always wanted the Nike Air heel, this is the version to get. The white leather will need more care than the black “Infrared,” but it goes with almost anything. As a wide release, it should be one of the easier Jordan retros to get at retail this season. Set a reminder for Nov 7 and check SNKRS that morning.
